Any physical interaction between Lorne Cook and three students he taught at Upper Canada College were part of legitimate teaching exercises and not for sexual purposes, defence lawyer John Rosen argued yesterday in his closing submission at the ex-teacher's trial.
He also attacked the credibility of witnesses, saying their memories could not be trusted to accurately recount incidents alleged to have occurred from 1978 to 1994.
But Crown prosecutor Mary Humphrey disagreed, telling Mr. Justice Brian Trafford of the Ontario Superior Court that Mr. Cook used the sessions and mock kidney transplants as pretexts to inappropriately touch students.
