Kerry is a cut above GOLDEN-LOCKS Kerry Oliver has had 20in of her sweeping 30in hair cut off to help children living with cancer. The mum-of-two's tresses will be sent to Canada, to be made into wigs for youngsters living with the killer disease.

But as soon as her hair makeover – which coincided with the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning – was complete, she added: "It's lovely. I really like it."

Kerry, who works at Primark, said: "I'm not sure how long it will take for my hair to get there and be made into a wig, but I'm just happy knowing where it will end up."

"I couldn't believe it. It was such a shock, but she didn't tell me her name. Then another lady came into the salon and left a lock of hair to send away too."

Kerry wasn't going to let her precious hair go for nothing. She collected almost £800 in sponsorship and donations, and the biggest support came from her 30-year-old husband Michael.

Michael said: "I've had my head shaved before so it wasn't that big a deal, but I'm so proud of Kerry. She has always said she would never part with her hair.
